Pumpkin Beer Chili

Again, 'pumpkin season' is here and with that, tons of new twists on old favorite recipes. I added my own 'twist' to a recipe I found by replacing the tomato sauce with a can of Shock Top Pumpkin Beer!!

Warning: This recipe is only for the daring individuals who like to try new things. If you are prone to liking hot chili, this may not be for you!! It's sweet with a bit of a bite and totally delicious.

                                                                          Ingredients:
2lbs. Ground Beef, Turkey or Chicken
                                                                       1 Green Pepper Diced
                                                                        1 Sweet Onion Diced
1 can (28ounce) of Diced Tomatoes
                                                                        2 TBS of Tomato Paste
                                                                         1 TBS Chili Powder
1 16 Oz. Can of Pumpkin Beer
                                                                       1/2 c. Puréed Pumpkin
                                                                        1 can of Kidney Bean's
                                                                                1/4 c. Sugar
                                                                   1 TBS Pumpkin Pie Spice

Brown the beef along with salt and pepper. Add the green peppers, onions, and sauté for 5 minutes.
After, add the pumpkin, kidney beans, diced tomatoes, chili powder, pumpkin pie spice, sugar, and tomato paste.
Mix together over medium heat. Final step, add the beer!! My favorite part!! I love cooking with spirits!!!
Stir and cover. Cook on low to medium heat for an hour. Stirring occasionally.
Open the lid and voilà !!

While I didn't make them today, I would recommend serving with a hearty biscuit! Why are carbs so good ??? There's nothing better than dipping a biscuit in chili or soup!
Enjoy September, my friends. We are already halfway through it. What is more, enjoy it with the people you love!
